Yes. No account is needed, there are no ads, and nothing to install. Signing in with Google is optional and only used to sync your codes across devices.
No. Tin Tally is an independent fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ZYN or Philip Morris International.
No. It opens the official ZYN Rewards page with your code filled in, and you press submit yourself. ZYN's rules void entries made by automated methods, so every code is entered by you.
Without signing in, your codes stay only in the browser on the device you scanned with. If you sign in with Google, your code list, redeemed status and rewards goal are also stored in Tin Tally's database, hosted by Cloudflare, so they sync across your devices. You can delete that synced copy any time from the account menu, under More options, Delete my synced data.
ZYN Rewards allows up to 60 codes per account each calendar month, and the count resets on the 1st. Tin Tally counts your entries and tells you when you hit the limit.
Codes are typically worth 15 points each. Tin Tally uses 15 points per code for its estimates. Check your ZYN account for your exact balance.
ZYN says points can expire if you go 60 days without entering a code. Tin Tally shows the date your points are safe until and can add a reminder to your calendar.
Use good light, tilt the tin so the label has no glare, and hold it about a forearm's length from the camera. Closer is usually blurrier. You can also type the printed code (it is case sensitive) or import photos of your tins.
Chrome cannot open iPhone HEIC photos. On your iPhone go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible, then take the photos again.
ZYN's terms do not allow combining codes obtained by others into one account. Scan your own tins, and send friends the link so they can scan theirs.
ZYN Rewards is open to US residents 21 and older. Tin Tally is for adults 21+.
A crew is a group of friends who compare Tin Tally stats. Create one on the Crews tab and share the invite link. Each crewmate signs in with Google, picks a name for the crew to see, and shows up on a monthly leaderboard ranked by codes redeemed. Crewmates only see that name and your counts, never your email or your codes.
No. Each person scans and redeems their own tins into their own ZYN account, because ZYN's terms do not allow combining codes from other people into one account. Crews only compare stats.
The Stats tab can show anonymous, site-wide totals, such as how many codes everyone using Tin Tally has scanned and redeemed. Tin Tally sends a one-way hash of each code, never the code itself, along with whether it was scanned or redeemed. You can turn this off any time with the toggle under Community stats, and it is on by default.
Save up your empty tins, then clear them in one sitting. Three steps:
Hold the QR code on the back of each empty tin up to your camera. Tin Tally beeps and saves the code. Duplicates are skipped.
Press Redeem next. The ZYN Rewards page opens with the code filled in. You click ZYN's arrow to submit it yourself.
See your points add up, stay under the 60 codes a month limit, and find out when your pile will be done.
